Told you I liked books

I've been reading The Emperor's Children by Claire Messud for probably a year now.  NYT gave it a favorable review, but the B&N woman told me she didn't like it.  And me?  I just can't finish it.  But, since I'm more than halfway through, I just won't stop reading it.  At what point do I just say to myself, "put the book down."

House Rules, Jodi Picoult's newest book hits the Amazon virtual shelves March 2, 2010, perfect timing for Spring Break.  I'm hoping Amazon ships a la Harry Potter, and I get it on the release date.  (Or I could go to an actual STORE, but who does that anymore?)  Not including this new book, I have three more of Picoult's books to read and then I've read all eighteen of her books.  I tend to do this sort of thing with books, music, and probably other things I don't even realize.  Instead of downloading one song, I download an album.  Instead of reading one book, I read them all.  I think I'm halfway through all of John Grisham's.

Too many good books exist to waste time on a book you don't love!
Flip to the last chapter and read it. If you're curious about how they got there, go back and re-read. If you couldn't care less, be dunzo.

I have never read a single Picoult book. Do you have a favorite?

(Sorry, I left this comment w/ the wrong gmail first.)

Her book that got me hooked was 10th Circle, so I'd start there, but I also really liked Nineteen Minutes. Nineteen Minutes is about a school shooter, so it's a little bit unsettling, but very good. My Sister's Keeper, the recent movie, is one of Picoult's books.

Good idea about reading the last chapter! I'm gonna do that.
